By sviluppo on 12 June 2017

Presented during an evening event at Palazzo Brancaccio. In the afternoon donated Rosh haShanà to the Senate Library

Wednesday, December 6, 2017, during an evening event held at Palazzo Brancaccio, organized by the publishing house “La Giuntina”, Berakhòt, the second volume created by the Babylonian Talmud Translation Project, was presented officially, in the presence, among others, of PTTB President, Rav Riccardo Di Segni, CNR President, Massimo Inguscio, UCEI President, Noemi Di Segni, MIUR Head of Department, Marco Mancini, and PTTB Director Prof. Clelia Piperno.

Berakhòt (Blessings) is the first treatise of the Talmud and reading it we understand first of all how the meaning of “blessing” has in Judaism numerous meanings, rituals, religious and philosophical, which lead the reader to reflect on the relationship between man, God and creation. The Berakhòt treatise, considered to be among the most profound and interesting, also deals with many other topics besides agricultural norms and rules relating to blessings.
The publication of the volumes produced by the Babylonian Talmud Translation Project is curated by “La Giuntina”, specialized in Jewish culture and founded in 1980 by Daniel Schulim.

In the afternoon of the same day, furthermore, in the study of the President of the Senate at Palazzo Madama in Rome, a ceremony was held to donate the volume “Rosh haShanà” to the Senate Library. The volume was presented to the President, Pietro Grasso, by the Minister of MIUR, Valeria Fedeli.
