FERRARA: Humanism and Technology in Support of Intercultural Dialogue

On Wednesday, November 24, 2021 at 5 p.m. at the Bookshop of the National Museum of Italian Judaism and the Shoah in Ferrara, was presented the event:

The Babylonian Talmud Translation Project: Humanism and Technology in Support of Intercultural Dialogue.

How do Humanism and Technology intertwine in the winding branches of the translation of the Babylonian Talmud? 

A question of great complexity that was answered during the meeting that presented for the first time in Ferrara, the Italian Translation Project of the Babylonian Talmud: an enormous study project, which makes use of a unique tool, “TRADUCO,” a computational linguistics software.

During the meeting, YESHIVA‘ was previewed: the new digital platform for the study of the Talmud and the dissemination of Jewish culture, which will enable the dissemination of reading and the sharing of text analysis.

The theme of Digital Humanism framed the interventions of:

It was also possible to participate to the new MEIS exhibition “Beyond the Ghetto. Inside&Out” organized and curated by director Amedeo Spagnoletto.
