Announcement of selection for admission to the Doctoral Program of National Interest in “Religious Studies”

By management on 20 July 2022

The call for applications for admission to the Doctoral Program of National Interest in “Religious Studies” (XXXVIII cycle – Academic Year 2022/2023) with administrative headquarters at the University of Modena and Reggio Emilia has been published. The deadline for applications is August 25, 2022.

The Doctoral Program offers 43 fellowships in 26 universities and research centers in Italy on the areas of Buddhism and Religions of Asia; Christianity; Law and Religions; Judaism; Islam; Transdisciplinarity and Technological Frontier Research, proposing itself as a place of training and cultivation of specialized knowledge inherent to religious experience, the heritage of sources on which it is based and the historical manifestations by which it is expressed over time.

The student(s) will be required to spend no less than six months in a foreign institution.

The first national doctorate activated on historical-religious subjects with the contribution of PNRR allocations for research, this Course came about thanks to a network of universities, research centers, cultural organizations, national religious associations and non-university entities that have demonstrated how to restore vitality to disciplines often frayed by lack of resources and school logic. In fact, the consortium universities distributed throughout the country have been joined by the scientific and financial collaboration of the Bruno Kessler Foundation, the Fondazione Cassa di Risparmio di Modena, the Foundation for Religious Sciences-FSCIRE, the Rut Foundation, the Italian Institute for the Middle and Far East, the “Nallino” Institute for the East, the Italian Buddhist Union the Union of Italian Jewish Communities, and the Babylonian Talmud Translation Project, which have activated fellowships at the University of Calabria, the University of Modena and Reggio Emilia, the University of Naples L’Orientale, the University of Naples Suor Orsola Benincasa, the University of Palermo, Sapienza University of Rome, the University of Turin, and Ca’ Foscari University of Venice.
The call for applications, with more details on the locations of the fellowships and with all useful information on how to apply, can be found on the web page http://www.unimore.it/didattica/dottorati.html under “Announcements and Rankings – Calls for Admission to Doctoral Courses.” The page can be reached by logging on to the website www.unimore.it and following the path “Didactics,” “Ph.D.s,” or directly through the Course’s international website: www.drest.eu
